Lately
PAC Club had finish another interview with another graduate affiliates of ACCA
that graduate on December 2011, Miss Chan Yean Peng. She is now the Manager of
Accounting Advisory and Outsourcing Service at KPMG Malaysia. She had join KDU
University College since July 2009 for several paper including P5 and P7 for
December 2011 examination.
There are several
reasons that encourage her to choose KDU University College over other
colleges, one of the main aspects was the location was near her working place
as she was and currently working in KPMG that was located at Bandar Utama. Furthermore,
the class size was less than 20 people in a class which she is more comfortable
with and easier for interaction between lecturers and students. However, the
most important factor to Miss Chan was to have lecturers with commitment and
passion in teaching. Lastly, the administrative convenience provided by the
admin staff as well as friendly atmosphere makes KDU the preferred choice for
her.
As we are studying
same course as she does, there is one question that we are always curious
about, “How did she go through all the exams and pass the papers as well?”. According
to Miss Chan, this is what her answer sounds:
“ After signing up for a class, failure
is never an option. After all, we do not
plan to fail. We have to change our
mindset when attending classes that we are there not for the paper
qualifications but most importantly, for the knowledge. It will be most unlikely that you will find
any mentor in the workplace who will readily impart such precious knowledge Always
try to understand the reason and logic behind each topic discussed and not
merely memorizing it. This mentality has
made my classes more interesting and meaningful. Knowledge gained this way will stay longer in
us and never be afraid to ask the silliest question. The lecturers won’t bite."
Preparation
before examination was important to her. She allocates at least 1 week towards the
exam date to try out past year questions under exam condition for each
paper. This requires a great deal of
self discipline and motivation. Most important key during the exam is time management.
Allocate enough time for each section and stop once time is up.
A very big thank you to Miss Chan Yean Peng to share with us her tips in studying. Hope this will help us for our future exam which is near... cheers people!!! All the best for JUN examination!
