17th National Inter-Varsity Accounting Quiz 2018

Two teams have represented KDU College to pariticipate in 17^th National Inter-Varsity Accounting Quiz 2018 (17^th N-IVAQ) in Malacca with 4 participants in each team, one of them being the reserve along with a lecturer.

DAY 1 (20^th April)

We arrived at the Multimedia University (MMU) at 8:30am. After registration, we were given a briefing and proceeded to the qualifying round which is exam based, consisting of 60 multiple choice questions and 1 structural question. Next, there was a talk by ACCA followed by lunch/prayer session where we had ordered pizza.

After lunch, there was photography session for all participants. The announcement of the Semi-Finalist (top 20) took place at 4:20pm. Both of the KDU teams have entered into the semi-final.

DAY 2 (21^st April)

We arrived at Dewan Seri Negeri at 8am sharp. After registration, there was a talk by ICAEW. Shortly after, the semi-final round (buzzer round) has started.

20 teams were divided into 4 groups by drawing lots. Each group will be asked 10 questions by the Quiz Master and whichever team who presses the buzzer sooner gets to answer. Every team starts with 30 marks, marks will be added or deducted depending on the team’s answer. Five finalist wil be chosen then.

Unfortunately, both teams did not get into the finals. However, we did enjoy ourselves and have now experienced something new. Then, we had lunch provided. We stayed to watch the finalists present their slides in the final round.

After that, there were performances presented by MMU students followed by a lucky draw session. At 5:30pm, the results of the top 3 were announced and the 17^th N-IVAQ ended with a closing ceremony.
